Getting married? There's an app for that

examiner.com

As the commercials suggest, there is literally an IPod application (or “app” to us cool, tech-savvy people) for everything.  So it’s only appropriate that this includes your wedding as well!

From helpful planning and budgeting apps, to just plain fun apps, you would be surprised at the number of wedding-specific apps that are currently available for your IPod/IPhone.  To get a feel of what’s out there, go to your “App Store” app and search the words “wedding” or “marriage” for a whole slew of them.

But if you’re short on time (and if you’re planning your wedding then you probably are!), I’ve highlighted 7 IPod apps that I thought may be of interest to you.  Some of the apps are free, some are paid, and there are definitely more out there than listed below.  Here they are!

- IWedding ($7.99) – Helps with the organization of your big day and keeps track of contacts, guest list, and budget.

- The Knot Wedding911 (FREE) – From the popular wedding website “The Knot”, this app is listed as “your on-the-go source for expert wedding advice” and also allows you to post questions and answers from other brides-to-be (requires wi-fi or other connectivity for this function.)

- ‘Til Wed ($.99) – This app is a clock, counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until your wedding day.  Perhaps install this on your fiance’s phone, just in case?

- A Wedding Planner ($.99) – Created by a bride, this app helps with the entire planning process, and allows you to prioritize tasks easily.

- Wedding Wire (FREE) – Allows you to search for local vendors in 20 different categories.  Read reviews, map their location, or call them directly from your IPhone.

And just for fun:

- Marriage Saver For Men (FREE) & Marriage Saver For Women (FREE) – Though this app is very doubtful to help your wedding planning, it claims to be able to help your marriage!  In the men’s app, at the push of a button you can have your IPod respond with quotes such as “Yes Dear” and “You’re right again, my dear!”  In the women’s version, quotes such as “Honey, we need to talk” and “Do these pants make me look fat, dear?” may not save your marriage, but they might save your vocal cords from repeating common phrases!
