Clinton, Louisiana – Independent developer Buddy Bergman today released version 1.0 of a new app called The Language Buddy that provides a simple interface to enter in a word or short phrase in your native language along with a Romanized “sounds like” spelling for another language. Add that you can also assign photos and audio clips The Language Buddy provides an easy way for you to manage new words and phrases as you make your travels to far off or local lands.
If you find yourself taking a vacation to a far off land and you don’t have time to learn the their language by heart then this app does the next best thing. You can enter in words in your native language, typically English, but it can be any language, and you also enter in the foreign language Romanized “sounds like” spelling. Now you have an easy way to reference that word again in the future. Plus, you can assign pictures and audio clips to those entries!
Lets say you are in South Korea and you go to a restaurant. You want to remember the name of the food you ate so you open up the Language Buddy and take a picture of your meal and enter the name of it plus take a picture and record an audio clip of how to properly pronounce that dish. Now you have reference to that picture anytime you think back wondering what it was that you had that one time.
Features:
* Create multiple language sets like English-to-Spanish, English-to-Korean, Japanese-to-English, etc.
* Create categories to organize your entries like food, phrases, people, etc.
* Add a picture to represent an entry like foods, objects, people, etc.
* Record an audio clip for your entries so you can hear the pronunciation whenever you want
* Search all entries in each language set
* Edit the Entries/Categories/Language Sets
* Change the background color
* Set the application to always startup a particular language set so you can jump right in making new entries without jumping around from screen to screen (Primarily for iOS 3.x since the app will always run in the background when using IOS4 unless the app was explicitly exited)
Examples of Use:
* You are traveling abroad and want to remember simple everyday words like Hello, Goodbye, Good Afternoon, Thank you, etc.
* You are traveling abroad and learn a new word or phrase that you want to note for easy future reference
* You eat some new foreign food and you want to remember how to pronounce that food the next time you want it
* You meet new people and don’t want to forget their name or face, but don’t want to add them to your address book
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch
* Requires iPhone OS 3.1.3 or later
* 0.6 MB
The Language Buddy 1.0 is free to download. It will let you create 3 Language Sets and create 10 entries per Language Set. You can do an In-App upgrade for $1.99 to unlock unlimited Language Sets and unlimited entries.

Garrett Moon, the owner of excited pixel, “hopes to see it being used in innovative ways. If it’s used by activists to organize, [he'll] be especially happy. [He] wanted to build something that could be used by the protestors around the world and realized in conversations with others, it had the potential for many other applications.”

Students know that time is a precious commodity that they cannot get back and that money is finite and must be used wisely. The main goals of Achievers Writing Center are to help students be more successful writing essays and papers, while helping them spend less time and money in the effort.
“Essay writing assistance for students is the perfect example of a highly fragmented market in need of a serious technology makeover. The products and services simply have not kept up with the mobile, smart-phone centered lifestyles of students,” states Michael Niles, President and CEO of Niles Technology Group.
Mr. Niles explains, “Achievers Writing Center apps deliver the mobile technology and content to let students do things that, in the past, required spending time sitting at a computer, making appointments at a school’s writing center, and traveling multiple times to the writing center. As for reliable “writer’s block” email support, well, that is virtually non-existent at writing centers. And, most importantly, if students want help in editing and reviewing the final product, they usually spend more money than they should on another entity that did not even help them write the essay in the first place. Just talking about all the steps and time involved illustrates how difficult and inconvenient it is to receive consistent, reliable professional help.”
Achievers Writing Center apps change the dynamics of essay writing in several significant ways. For a fixed, affordable price, each app comes with professional writing center services and more. There are no hidden charges or hourly credits to track.
Achievers Writing Center apps have step-by-step guidance in writing over 40 different types of essays. Specificity is key to helping a student with a specific type of writing assignment. The apps also come complete with tutorials on writing effectively, footnotes, outlines, and full explanations of the different essay genres. Achievers Writing Center is truly at the forefront because no other writing center offers comprehensive writing apps.
Each app includes unlimited “writer’s block” email support so no more being stuck without a real person to help. There is basically a “writing assistant” in every app ready to assist with any questions throughout the writing process.
The apps have actual writing pages where students can write essays directly on their iPhone or iPod touch. To achieve true mobile essay writing, Niles Technology Group takes full advantage of the computing capabilities and excellent work interfaces of the devices.
And after the essay is complete, the student emails it to Achievers Writing Center. The essay is edited and reviewed with recommendations on how to improve it. This step is the crucial difference between getting an A instead of a B.
No other product provides such complete, start to finish, writing assistance coupled with the convenience and freedom of mobile computing. There are no ongoing hourly charges; no more sitting in front of a desktop computer or carrying a bulky laptop; no more being stuck without help; and no need to hike through the rain or snow to the writing center.
Achievers Writing Center is truly comprehensive high-tech essay writing aid at a student-budget price. The standard all-inclusive app price starts at $14.99 USD. For students that want everything except the essay editing and review, there are versions that begin at $7.99. The apps can be found in the iTunes Store.

Trapster, the world’s most popular navigation and traffic related application for the iPhone and other smartphones, doesn’t just save drivers money, it helps keep roads safe.
A recent Los Angeles CBS News expose (http://cbs2.com/goldstein/Red.Light.Cameras.2.1301941.html) revealed that, in fact, red light cameras have increased traffic accidents, simply because they startle drivers. Accidents nearly tripled at some intersections. The reason: drivers slam on their brakes when they see the cameras, causing vehicles behind them to collide from the rear. Trapster alerts drivers to red light cameras via spoken warnings, a half mile before they approach, giving ample time to prepare.
Road safety is a major objective for Trapster. At the request of law enforcement, it has already added locations of and directions to police and fire stations, and school zones. A version currently in development supports Amber alerts, and allows users to report accidents, brush fires, children-at-play zones, and road hazards. Other features such as real time traffic and turn-by-turn directions are already included in Trapster.
“We have 2.5 million users who can enhance road safety by reporting things they see,” says Pete Tenereillo, Founder and CEO of Trapster.com. “That’s a powerful force. Sometimes people need to find the police, rather than avoid them.”
Trapster is completely free, and runs on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile, Palm Pre, Nokia phones, Garmin and TomTom GPS units, and more. Recent feature additions include crowdsourced traffic, points of interest, and a fun feature that plays voice alerts in an imitated celebrity or character voice.

Independent developer Brice Milliorn today announced the sale of JBMJBM, LLC. JBMJBM is a well established company whose sole purpose is creating consumer applications for the iPhone platform. Establishing JBMJBM as an LLC in July of 2009, I have sold over 30,000 applications in my short tenure as an iPhone programmer. Because of my limited time that I am able to give to this business, I am unable to properly market what I have. If an interested party has time to market them, their results should be much better.”
This single purchase lands the prospective party 87 applications, currently listed on the App Store. JBMJBM will transition all application assets into the party’s name or into their business name. Interested parties are bidding on the source code files, website files, and all collateral (in other words, the whole kit and caboodle) for all 87 apps from JBMJBM.

* Pro Rodeo Fan
* Sit Up Counter
* Shake 2 Count

“As my knowledge grew and the word about my apps grew, I started getting inquires on making apps for other companies,” Milliorn continued. “I tested those waters as well and was able to make $10,000 plus on building other companies iPhone apps that they were requesting. I remain convinced that with the right people balance and great marketing, JBMJBM can be very successful in its own right.”
What’s Included:
* DVD Copy of All the 87 Apps Source Code
* Technical support and backup as need to ensure a smooth transition for two months
